This is an interesting infographic that takes a close look at the reality of the headlines we see every day. The infographic shows how much the media reports on what is truly happening around us. Take a look at the infographic and see just how many other crimes are committed but never mentioned by the media.
Infographic Design: B+
The design for this infographic works well with the information. The colors are dark and the text is rough and dirty. The images clearly represent the different crimes and are easily distinguished. I appreciate that the states are sectioned off and the format for the information is consistent throughout the infographic. The data is presented in a way so that readers can clearly see the comparisons that are being made. I really enjoyed the design of this infographic and feel like it is has a retro eighties feel.
Infographic Information: B+
The information is clear to show that the media does not always report every crime but tend to talk about the bigger ones. The data shows that each state may be slightly different but they all relatively showed that the media used certain crimes as headlines for their news. I really do appreciate that while this whole infographic is about crime the last statistic that readers are left with is an uplifting positive one that almost 99.5% of people will not be a victim of a violent crime. That is a great way to end the infographic.
