Right now in the United States there are everyday heated debates that occur over gun control. You have one side that believes in the right to bear arms. They personally believe guns are needed for protection. These people typically have a story of how their gun ownership saved their loved one from immediate danger. Are these people right though? We all have the right to bear arms with proper licensing. Realistically guns are illegally owned as well. You have another side who believes guns are the enemy.
This side believes if you take the gun the violence goes away. Truly, there isn’t a right or wrong side. It comes down to personal belief. Until the federal government decides to ban guns all together, the right is left up to you. So which side is right? Where do your beliefs fall? With the wake of some serious shooting incidents just in the past year alone, you might want to take a look at some of these shocking statistics.
Did you know that 63% of guns owned in the US are shotguns? Did you know that 68% of all murders are committed with a firearm? These statistics are shocking indeed. As an American though, do we really believe guns to be the root of all evil? If you take a look at this chart, you will see, guns are not just an issue in America.
One could possibly think the US would be #1 for global gun violence but, we are not. Honduras currently holds this title. If you think about some of the countries known for the drug trade, it seems gun issues tend to be higher there. It is truly up to you to decide, what side of the fence you are on. This chart though will better open your eyes to the statistics.
